From the beginning |
Where we are now |
We are the descendants of William "Bocto" Cureton, of Greenville County South Carolina and our Matriarchs - Sarah Anna York and Eliza Cureton (both from Virginia). We are now the sixth, seventh, eighth, and even ninth generation removed from those ancestors.
The first reunion was held in 1980 and there were at least eight subsequent reunions in the 1980's, 1990's and early 2000's. Over time the reunion leaders were unable to keep the tradition going. In 2018 the William "Bocto" Cureton Family Reunion was rekindled in Greenville SC. Over 100 people came home to celebrate. |
We are the proud descendants of those amazing men and women who made "family" in Greenville and Anderson County SC. We now live all over the United States.
In 2018, we had family members from all over attend the Reunion: Washington DC Detroit MI Greenville SC Easley SC Bowie MD Milwaukee WI Charlotte NC Waltham MA White Plains MD Washington DC Lithonia GA Rockville MD Edgewater NJ Chicago IL Cleveland OH Los Angeles CA Albany GA Solon OH Covington GA Greensboro NC Walhalla SC Battle Creek MI Piedmont SC Simpsonville SC Stafford VA Philadelphia PA Fredericksburg VA Columbia SC Decatur GA Oakwood Village OH Stamford CT Orangeburg SC Our goal for 2020 is to expand beyond 2018! |
